I know some of the basics but according to the tv there is no input signal and I need the input YPbPr1 to get my DISH receiver running so my dad can watch tv.
I already called DISH technical support but they couldn't help me with my tv for some reason. I'm frustrated and I just want the tv to get the input signal so my dad won't be bored, we haven't had tv for almost a week and the receiver it's connected to is a brand new one just shipped to us today. Everything is connected securely so I don't know what to do.
If anyone knows how to get the input signal YPbPr1 on my tv that'd be so much help.

The only input working is Video-2, and that's connected to the Blu-Ray Player.

The cable box needs to be pluged into the tvs Cable/Antenna on the back of the tv (coaxial cable) It will also need a HDMI cable going from "Out" on cable box to "IN" on tv. However if you do not have HDMI - you will use the Red/Yellow/White component cable to get video & audio "Out from cable box to "In" on back of tv. That may be all you need to do or you may need to use the tv remote and use Input button on it and go through steps required so the cable box and tv work together. The tv owners manual should show diagrams of how to hook up other equipment. Hope this helps.

The guy who installed the "dish" didn't make sure it actually worked before he left?

Here's what I'd do; Call Dish, the sales division. Ask to speak to a manager. Tell him either they come out and get your TV actually receiving signals from their equipment or you will take them to small claims court for breach of contract.

What they are selling is a service, not just the equipment.

Good Point !

I fixed it. I switched the component cables around, as in the ends, and it started working. Weird stuff. Very frustrating. I spent 2 hours on the phone with DISH advance technical support and when I started tinkering with it I fixed it.
