Does anyone know what is wrong with my little hen? I attached 2 short videos.

I'm hoping I will be able to upload this short video and after viewing it someone could help and tell me what is wrong with my chicken. It's hard to tell in the video, but she kind of holds her mouth open (doesn't gasp, but almost looks like it?? It's hard to describe). Does anyone know what is wrong with her? and how I can help her?

Oh my gosh!!! That is exactly what my hen is doing!!! Right down to the noise and 'sneeze'.

Someone please help, I really want to see both of our hens get better.

How old is she and what breed is she?

It's really hard to say... could be a respiratory infection or maybe a mite infestation? Are there any other symptoms? Have you dewormed them and /or inspected the skin for mites?

Upon doing research, I am pretty confident it is Gapeworm. Matches all the symptoms. casportpony: I'm pretty stupid sometimes, so your link didn't really make to me. Sorry about that. What do you treat them with?

That link says that one should treat with Fenbendazole (Safeguard or Panacur, liquid or Paste) at 20mg/kg by mouth for three days in a row. You'll find the wormer at most feedstores in the horse and cattle section. If you can, weigh your birds and I'll let you know how much to give them. Liquid is easiest to use, so see if you can find "Safegaurd for Goats", it's about $20 for 125ml.

If they don't have gapes, worming won't hurt, so no need to worry about that.

Thank you so much. I will try to head to the feed store tomorrow.

Gapeworm is just like any other worm, correct? So when they recover, they wont be carriers right? Just want to make sure.
