Does anyone know what store will fix this?

I've looked at multiple forums on the Apple website but none of them are telling me what store will replace my iPod touch 4g screen. I dropped it today and it's broken and from what I've read the warranty doesn't cover that. There's no Apple stores near me, probably there's plenty in the Los Angeles area, but I'm stuck in the desert and the store locator is only giving me stores like RadioShack, Wal-Mart, and other cellphone stores. But will they fix my screen? If not do those stores sell DIY kits?
This is my screen.

you might check craigslist and see if there is someone who does it privately. I don't know if the stores will fix it or not. Even if they do, will probably be uber-expensive. I know that we always have people posting on our local sites that they will replace them

I just did a yahoo search for "ipod touch screen repair" and it came up with lots of options including part w/ instruction for home repair. There were even parts available from amazon....... hope that helps!

I have replaced my kids screen twice now, the touch is a tougher fix but can be done at home with some patience and dexterity, (watch the youtube videos to see if you think you can handle it!). It costs about 50-100.00 to pay someone to replace the screen plus the cost of the part which is around 50.00, or you can order a kit and try it yourself. Here are a few specific companies who sell the parts.

And you are correct, it is not covered under warranty.

I know I need to put a case on it but all the cases I like are for iPhones... >_> I kind of want this case that my friend has for her iPhone, it's black, somewhat heavy, and supposed to make the phone indestructible if you drop it. I want something like that but perhaps in pink and with Hello Kitty on it?

My mom says for my birthday next month she'll get me an iPhone. I'm not much of a texter but I do enjoy my music and Pandora radio, Pandora on the go sounds lovely. So in the mean time the screen is gonna be cracked. I've had it for 2 years or so too. I've also never had a personal cellphone either, my mom said that I should have one right now.

LOL, you sound just like my daughter

The really good ones to protect them are otterboxes (I think), my hubby drops his phone constantly and it still looks and acts brand new!

Good luck, even if you can't fix yourself you can mail it to a repair shop or apple for them to do it.

Not sure about your iPod, but there are stores around here that will replace an iPhone screen for about $50

Check in Lancaster or Palmdale
