that's just what I was going to suggest. I've gotten chickens and ducks from contacts I've made THROUGH my feed store.

Additionally, you may want to check your local animal shelter. They can get chickens sometimes and they have a hard time placing them. I'm on my shelter's call list. If they get chickens they call me. They were my source of my first chickens (free---cuz they had so many that just needed homes!)

Craigslist is a good place to look too. They almost always have someone selling chickens in my area.

You could place a "wanted" ad on your local craigs list also.

I got 2 of my roo's that way.

Wow, what a small world!! My mom and step-dad live in Port Huron too! I know the town is a pretty good size so you may not be familiar with all the streets but they live on Howard Street.​
