I own a chicken rescue, and I have a little barn, but it can only hold about 30 - 35 chickens. I would like to find a large barn that can hold 100 - 200+ chickens. I was at a animal rescue in Grass Valley last weekend and they had large barns, so I emailed asking where they got them. But if anyone knows of a place please let me know! Thanks!

I live in amish country and if I needed a barn then I would be riding out to see them ..I see you are in cali ..are there any meninites out there ..they build some nice buildings ..

Hi roostersandhens, check out the search at the top for hoop houses. Cheap and sturdy. Add as many as 5 cattle panels and get a 8' x 20'. Build a couple for more chickens.

Out here in Iowa if you so have the inclination alot of people will pay you to take theirs down after building a house and the insurance guy sees it. Once a ramshackle barn is too near residential it makes insurance hard to get. New suburbs or craigslist would be where I would try. They are not easy to take down though and some wood is always bad so you need a couple to build one. Plus you would need to come up with plans as you will be cutting things down due to rot etc most likely.

thank you for the welcome...amish made stuff is very cheap around here ..sheds you cant touch for any cheaper or better quality ..

a giant barn is tough ..how about one of those giant size pole barn with the metal sides and roof ..if you knows someone who can frame it up , you could side and roof it yourself ..

I like the hoop structure idea.

Easier to build several smaller building than one large one, and it gives you more options for splitting up birds that don't get along.

If you're a rescue, you may even be able to get some help with materials and/or labor from local chicken-loving individuals!
