Does anyone know why my rooster is making a honking noise?

He did it today but unfortunately i had left my cell phone inside as i was doing something else unrelated to the chickens. So he doesnt do it when he eats or drinks as i had not fed them yet. He does it directly after a hen laid a egg; could he just be very happy that he was a pops? I pick up the eggs so now i feel terrible but i did get them for the eggs so not too terrible. The girls dont lay on the eggs so i will probably need a broody hen as mine are easter eggers n they dont seem interested in on hatching any eggs. I will still check him as i dont want anything to happen to Karl.

Is he making a noise similar to what the hens make when they lay an egg?
A rooster will join in a lot of times during the egg song - is he singing?
