MissPrissy's recepie calls for fresh milk but she also says you can use cream from the store. I was wondering if anyone had good results with this? Like I said, I did it when I was a kid but I don't remember how it came out or the amount.

First..it takes lots of cream to make a pound of butter. Second when I was a teenager I was suppose to be whipping the cream to make whipped cream...had no sugar in it yet...I got preoccupied..as still happens

, and ended up making butter. Now this was just with a mixer. I now use my blender and make up butter and this wonderfu whey for biscuits is left over. Yum two things at once!

I just made Butter in my new food processor attachment that came with my new Stick blender I got in the mail today!!

My kids and I actually made homemade butter 3 weeks ago using the old glass quart jar method. (Homeschool project ) I had fond memories of this as a kid (girl scouts!) but I was kind of dreading doing it with my kids. I had memories of it taking FOREVER................

and my kids are not the most patient (neither am I for that matter)

I poured in the heavy whipping cream into a somewhat warm old ball glass canning jar (just pulled it out of the dishwasher) my kids each shook it for almost 20 seconds, then handed it to me. 4 Minutes later, it stopped shaking and I realized that it was done! I COULD NOT BELIEVE how fast that was. It was delicious. We did add a bit of salt to it (most butter in the stores has salt) and we loved it. So stinking easy. I kind of felt guilty about dreading it the way that I was.

I wish ALL of our homeschool science projects went that easily!
