Does anyone else find themselves sitting out in the chicken pen for hours just watching them pick and scratch around??? I always go out and spend a little time with my chickies. I also always say that I will only be out for a few minutes and then that turns into an hour or two!!! I sit with the big girls and then go in with babies. Tonight's big thing was the babies found their first worm treat!!! I love the chasing!!!

funny, i posted the same question when i got my chicks. Even now they are 5 weeks and out in the shed, with my son out of school I have to go out, feed and water and come right back. Sometimes I linger too long and here he comes looking for me

Yep!! We have 2 "chicken watching chairs" in front of the coop. Dh and I sit out there and have coffee and chat with the "kids". Most of them got their names as we watched their personalities form.

Oh yes, they can be very entertaining! I also have coffee with my horse in the mornings, the bunnies and chickens are in the same area too!!

LOL I thought I was the only one to have coffe with my animals. First thing in the Am I start a pot of coffee....then I feed and water the animals...then we all go out on the porch with MY coffee.......(sometimes I have to share lol)

Almost every night the family goes and hangs out with the girls. The boys like to go in the run and play with them. Dh and i have chairs outside and we sit and talk and watch. It's soooooooo relaxing. We even let the bunny out and he plays too.

My family teases me about watching my chickens all the time. We have 2 high back lawn chairs and they know if they can't find me in the house then I will most likely be in one of them..relaxing watching my babies.

They also say that if I'm gone for most of a day they don't lay as well. I've tried to explain that's because I talk to them...which they then really look at me like I've lost my cookies. Hey, I love my chickens what more can I say....I knew you guys would understand...LOL.

We used to work out in the gardens all the time. Now we watch chickens and ducks instead of working in the gardens.

In the past 3 days we have had 2 neighbor kids wanting to know if we needed to hire some help for lawn mowing and weeding the gardens. LOL
We spent all day yesterday outside working.
