I really like the design of the 'Chicken Ark' that is pictured at
Handcrafted Coops - http://HandcraftedCoops.com/
Does
anyone own a chicken ark? How do you find it in terms of portability, ergonomics, etc?
Do your hens like it?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I don't have a chicken ark but I have an A-frame that is the same shape but the coop is on one end. It was built with scrap materials. It's kinda heavy but we move it as needed. I use it mainly for young chicks.

I have a coop from here: https:www.//mobilechickencoops.com/Home_Page.php.

I bought a large one with extra nesting boxes. https://mobilechickencoops.com/Coop_Designs.html

My
chickens and turkeys loved it (before they were lost to raccoons last year...my fault for leaving them free ranging after dark). Mine is huge and has large tractor wheels to help move it, but I can move it on my own if it's not muddy or too hilly. There are so many out there, I finally opted for one I could commission that was made locally (to get the most bang for my buck, not pay shipping or have to put it together myself). I still think about getting some smaller ones to put around the property to take care of chiggers, ants and other pests this upcoming summer. Another excuse to buy more chickens!!! Well, I have all these chicken tractors, arks and eglus to fill up....

Wish me luck as I raise up a new flock this spring. Can't wait for the babies to get big enough to put out there and try out the mobile coop! I parked it right off my back porch so I can keep a close eye on it.

Have fun!
