Yes. I rotate grass sections so they don't over eat my yard so they always have some grass. As far as in the garden I always plant kale, swiss chard and some parsley for my ducks and geese. Grows great year round where I live and the birds love it. I have my birds in the garden and I just fence off garden beds I don't want them in and try to make the rest productive for them. I allow and even plant/transplant lots of wild edible "weeds" such as dandelions, plantain, catsear, clovers, chicory, speedwell and dead nettle to grow in my garden nooks and cranies. All of those are edible and the ducks and geese eat varying amounts of them. I only weed out any plants out that might be harmful such as fox glove or nightshade as fast as I can spot them. As a result most of the garden is either producing food for me or them. Very little space being wasted. They do make a pest of them selves eating things like my pansies, day lilies, bachelor buttons, and chives which I don't fence off but they do more help then harm when factoring in the bugs and slugs and I like knowing they have good things to eat. I also give them any leaves of things like broccoli that are a bit buggy.
