Does Anyone Play World of Warcraft?? I want to know a bit about it

i want to play and be part of WoW but i have no idea how much internet it uses, can your account get hacked? blah blah blah

someone tell me....is it safe, as in computer. there are no viruses or anything?? i have done intensive research on it and i love it even though i dont even play it yet.

i wan't to hear it from the true gamer. please help me! i will post replys and questions on this topic now again asking new questions.

Oooh, I play it occasionally.

It's fun, just expect downloads for patches everyonce in a while and mean people/trolls, as it is a multiplayer game. Ignore anyone who tries to give you crap like that. I'm sure the blizzard/Wow website could give you more info.

I didn't notice your hacking question. Yes, you can get hacked and get stuff stolen (like gold or non-soulbound armor), but blizzard is fairly good with helping you through the situation.

WOW accounts cannot be hacked as such,but they can be hijacked.
have never played WOW and am completely against the immoral side to hacking,but have personaly known quite a few 'blackhats' who profit from stealing WOW accounts,especialy ones that are high level or have a lot of treasure or whatever it is that WOW uses attached,they are commonly sold on the 'black market'/underground.

-they have various methods of getting peoples WOW accounts,a common one is to trick a target into downloading a fake program or java drive by-the fake program might be about getting fake gold or hacking WOW or whatever-something that woud attract WOW users,this is their gateway to installing hack tools to log or view WOW account details.
the other common method involves youtube,there are a lot of videos on there which encourage people to go to a website to download something or it might initiate a java drive by if they are on an old enough windows.
phishing is the other one,this method involves tricking people into giving their account log ins/PW,usualy by making the fake website look like the official one.


if ever suspect an account as being in use by someone else,change the password as soon as possible,better if do this from another computer because if the suspicion was correct-the computer coud have been keylogged or RATed [RAT=remote administration tool] so any changes made woud still be viewed.

the only thing I will say is that it will consume your life if your not careful. I was so addicted that it was all I could do until I quit cold turkey.
