Well...we have hatched several chicks in three batches (now age 4 weeks, 12 weeks, and 16 weeks). Their conformation, size, and personality are similar to that of the parent stock. Interestingly, they achieved similar bulk and weight by age 12 weeks even without the meat bird feed I fed the parents. The chicks' coloring has been all over the place. Our rooster was a colorful barred FR and most of the chicks have had pale to bright barring of various colors. We have also crossed RIR and BO hens with our FR rooster, and the FR genes clearly gave some size to at least one (the others are too young to tell). I'll try to post some photos and weights soon.
