Does anyone still have a landline?

My DH and I both have cell phones and we also have a "house" cell phone for the kids to use. But we have a home phone too for local calls only. The ONLY reason we have the house phone is because of the internet, if we didn't need it for that it would be GONE! We have great cell reception at our house.

because my house is 150 years old and the lines going to my house are about 70 years old i cant have internet through my phone line my internet runs from the cell towers BUT my cell phone will only work on the second level of the house so I have to have a land line

we tried with no home phone for a bit and it was a nightmare

I've had the same number at home here for 31 years. I don't pay that much, $24.99, I think. I don't think I"ll give it up, I'm just old enough to think that a phone in the house, wired, is something that a house should have

Oh yea, I should add, reception here is horrible on my cell - the idiots around me won't allow towers

I have a landline because I still have a dial up computer. However, for everything else we have cell phones.
