Hello y'all, I am in south bama and we recently got 5 whelsh harlequin ducklings. We just love them. They have not imprinted on us so that has us bummed but they are getting less skittish of us. If anyone wants to gossip about ducks please do!

Hello and Welcome to BYC. Glad to have you here in this Poultry Lovers Community. I have no ducks (yet) but would like to build a small pond that I can easily do here. We are in South Bama too. Currently all we have is chickens. Lots of them named and are pets that wander the place and are under foot if we are out working on coops or preparing spots for garden vegetables. Now I wonder if ducks would be in the mix and do the same. I've looked at different duck breeds and found a silkie duck that if memory is right lays blue eggs. I need to look that up again and hopefully get some eggs to hatch in the spring of '25. I'm sure you can find a lot of people to chat with in the Duck Forum.

I can't compare the "activeness" of now to many years ago, but hang out a while and I guess you be the judge. I sure like it here.
