Does anyone use soy/corn-free feed?

Since chickens are not a rumanet anmimal what ever the chicken eats you are consuming as well. I chose to use a soy free non-gmo feed. It does contain corn but it is non-gmo corn. It replace soy with fish-meal so the chickens are getting plenty of amino acids.

It's quite easy to avoid eating soy directly if you avoid all ultra processed food... However it's impossible to avoid indirect soy because that's what most meat animals eat.
If you go vegan though, avoiding indirect soy is feasible... But again, good luck getting a decent aminoacidic profile from a soy free vegan diet! One would end up needing supplements, so in the end what's the point? I'm not vegan but I see no problems eating some good tempeh and miso soup from time to time. It's even said to be healthy probiotic food!
Asking from curiosity: can’t other legumes like peas replace soy on an equal basis? Or is soy somehow more complete?

I figured that soy is everywhere because it’s so easily and cheaply grown, and now marketed so successfully.

For what I can remember from school, soy is the only legume that has protein the same quality of meat.
I don't know if there are other rarer legumes that have the same profile, I'll look it up. But peas for example are missing some essential amino acids.
However if you pair peas (or other "incomplete" legumes) with a cereal, the profile became complete, at least from what I learned about human nutrition.

If you take out the soy you need to replace a good protein source. Soy is used as a cheap protein. The food I use replaced soy with fish meal and peas. Soy does not harm animals like it does humans but whatever a chicken eats you are eating as well.

That’s how I remembered it as well, but I had read it back in the day - it’s been a while since! thanks
