Like many here I also use search alot, hence my post numbers.

But like someone said if you think about it what would BYC be like if everyone searched all the time and never posted new topics. We would be down to a few forums like Coops and building, ramblings, new memebers, cooking, selling, hatching and raising. Most of those would be real slow as again many questions are ask over and over again too.

I am on another forum not related to chickens that jumps on people bad when they ask a repeated question. What happens is no one really talks on it much anymore because of the Do a Search police. Too bad also for it was a good idea till they came along. Maybe I will turn into the backoff police there.

My problem with search is I have to come up with one word or it does not work for me too well. Doing a phrase gets too many unrelated hits in the topics area. I spend alot time just reading back posts because it is fun and I find something everytime. Can one say I spend way too much time on the net.

Nothing wrong with asking a question that's been answered before. Helps get a fresh perspective. Some people like myself just peruse this sight for entertainment and to pick up the occasional useful tidbit. There is always new members joining and they may have answers of their own.

Well said Cybercat, I use the search sometimes, but if people didn't ask questions and other people didn't answer them then there wouldn't be near as many people communicating and I doubt BYC would be as popular as it is.

While we are at it, I'm sure you could google every question you would have about chickens and find the answer, then there would be no need for BYC.

For Pete's sake, this is a forum, who cares if the question has been asked and answered before. As defined, it is the purpose of a forum...
