Ok, so I am sure this sounds really dumb, BUT after my cocci incident last year I am being VERY careful!!

The banty coop has smelled a little funky lately and i know i have 1, almost definitely broody hen. I went in to get eggs today and saw Patty was sitting on a quite full nest of eggs and was growling at me. of all the chickens in the coop i forgot to check her butt for irritation or anything (dumb!) i just didnt wanna bother her anymore.

I did check everyone elses butt in the coop including the babies, everyone but the silkie roo was clean, his was a little pasted, i assumed from his feathers..he needs a trim.

I saw a spot of poo on the floor and it looked pretty runny, but not watery. it was just pale brown with NO blood, just all brown. it Smelled Terrible! was stinking up the whole coop.

It worries me because i never noticed smelly poo with any of my broodies before.

is it normal? should i be worried? why do i have a stinky chicken!?

iI would feed the chickens cayanne pepper as such
1 gallon of dry crumbles
3 tbsp of cayanne pepper
as only feed given
and see if the smelly manure will clear up
broody hens need to get off the nest every day as it is what causes the manure to sour ans smell so bad

also in the drinking water put 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar to a gallon of water do this for a week and then three times a week

also you can feed once a day the
wet mash probiotic to all the chickens what they can eat in 20-30 minutes
to build up the gut flora
you can email me PM for the amt as will need the amt of chickens to be fed
