Does Egg shape change over time?

I can seem to find my silkie chickens eggs anymore. I know silkies are horrible layers but I still cant find any eggs. She used to lay long oval white eggs but I cant seem to find them. Might her egg shape have changed? Is this Possible? She isnt broody or anything...

Shape can change, for sure. I've got a hen who, today, laid a narrow torpedo shaped egg. She's always laid a more roundish egg.

I hope the little pullet eggs soon start getting bigger.

Yes the egg shapes can vary from day to day. I occasionally get a "torpedo" egg.

You may need to confine your silkie for a few days to the coop to see if she is laying and to remind her where the next box is. Maybe a snake or rat is eating her eggs. I have seen lots of people report this happening.
