Does electric poultry fencing work really well? What brand is best?

It does help to a degree thank you.

I am however talking about the net like fencing like from premier that many I've seen talk about rather than the single strand type. To me it seems the quickest and easiest accomplished with a 1 man show rather than recruiting help. You have any knowledge of birds jumping over the fence?
As it turns out, I do.

My birds will NOT jump over my 4' electric fence (top wire is hot). Neither will they jump over my 4' graduated livestock fence. What they will, however, do, is jump to the top of my 4' five bar gate, and from there jump to the ground on the other side...

I've lots of pictures of them sitting at the top of the gate, trying to decide on which side the grass is greener...

Awesome thanks. I plan on making an access to that section via the original run to eliminate that. So it's basically unnecessary to add a couple strings of wire above that netting then? That was my thought/idea

That's consistent with my experience, yes.

While some breeds can fly over a 4' fence, and if scared enough, will do so, I've found even my most energetic chickens to generally be lazy and won't go over a 4' barrier unless they can land on some horizontal surface along the way. How narrow a surface, I don't know - I've seen them land on both bar gates and a gate I made myself which has a 2x4 on edge at the top (1.5" +/-)

Good to know. I'm still learning only had these birds just under a year and I've gained a wealth of knowledge through extensive research. But this time bit on these fences is hard to come by.
