Jun 29, 2009 #1 Maryallison Songster 11 Years Jul 18, 2008 657 3 153 Fountain, Florida I only have a few chickens..... 2 buffs (1 is broody), 1 polish,1 silky. Well, they haven't given me a egg in over a week! I did notice they are eating less. With this heat who can blame them. They are eating though. Everybody seems happy.....just no eggs.... In case this helps I have a polish roo in with them & they are on layer feed.

Jun 29, 2009 #2 gritsar Cows, Chooks & Impys - OH MY! 14 Years Nov 9, 2007 28,913 490 681 SW Arkansas Yes heat can decrease or even completely stop laying. I am actually wishing that it would affect my girls. They are laying like gangbusters in 100 degree heat and I feel bad for them. I don't need eggs at the expense of their health.
