It feels like she swallowed half of a baseball. I can feel the contents move when I touch it. No smell and not acting weird. Just very large. Is this normal? She eats like a maniac.

Mine do the same right before bed. Check it in the morning before they eat and see if it’s flat/empty.
Ok I will. She is a small girl but has a huge appetite. Everyone else is the size of a golf ball.
If it’s not empty in the morning what do I do?

Restrict feed give plenty of water and diagnose.

Search impacted crop. I’ve never personally never had crop issues, but I believe massaging crop and giving coconut oil is what comes to mind to help break it up.

How did she do overnight?

I have a hen that gets a very full crop like that on a regular basis. It’s hilarious when she’s digging away—it looks like she’s going to stab herself with her own claws, with the crop rolling and flopping around as she vigorously hunts for MORE FOOD. She’s not even remotely fat tho.

i have one like this also! before they are put in for the night, she always eats so much that her crop is massive. it used to worry me but then i realized that she just really likes to eat- i always check her crop in the morning just incase, but it’s always empty by then so i don’t worry anymore

That’s so crazy. This chicken is so small and it looks like she is lopsided. I see her eat constantly.

How old is she?
