Another day, another health issue with my flock. This time I've got a 6.5 year old EE with something funky going on with her left eye. It's a little watery, swollen, with clear bubbles on the inner corner. She's also acting a little slower than typical, hanging inside instead of out in the run more than usual. Initially I thought she was just feeling a little off because of starting to molt, but now I think she's feeling unwell.

Eating and drinking fine. Poops normal and large (however, last week they were really runny, that seems to have resolved in the last couple days, but possibly could be a symptom). No sneezing or wheezing. Still active, scratching, pecking, preening, roosting, chasing off the young ones. Feels maybe a touch on the light weight side, her breastbone is fairly prominent. Crop is normal. Only major symptom seems to be the goobery left eye and resting in quieter places more than normal.

Allergens? Infection? Injury? What's most likely?

She's hard to catch, shy of people, so it's not easy getting good pictures of her.

Is the dry crusty drainage under her eye and on her muff just dried eye drainage? It looks like signs of conjunctivitis and possible MG. I would send for some Tylosin powder from the online store belowwhich has free shipping or jedds.com and start her on 1 tsp of the powder per gallon of water for 5 days. You could treat her separately inside a dog crate during the day from 7 am to evening at 7 pm, and then let her roost with the other birds.

Here is where to get Terramycin without a prescription:

Here is some reading about conjunctivitis and MG:

Yes I believe it is all dried drainage. It looks like black specks in some places, but I think it's dried on dust/dirt.

I do happen to have Tylosin on hand already so I'll go ahead and treat her. Her eye does look a lot like the pictures of MG. Would it be beneficial to treat the whole flock? None of them show any symptoms (yet) but should I assume they are now all carriers for it since they've been exposed to her?
