Does it matter what kind of Apple sauce you give a chicken

Does it matter what kind of Applesauce or does it have to be plain I save a chicken from my grandma's dog this morning I'm going to have hing rest in my room for a while and I don't have regular feed for him at the moment.........sorry I'm a bit new

I think I do but I would have to check it's not the candy kind I gave him a piece of bread and my last regular applesauce.
