Does it matter what time of year chicklings hatch?

We have hens laying on eggs that will hatch in July/August. Does it matter what time of year they have chicklings?

Welcome to BYC!! Cold months are less preferable for raisin chicks, but it could be done with a heat source.

Welcome. Hens will be broody when they decide to... you can bring mom and chicks inside if needed, but an August hatch should be enough time unless you live in Alaska.

If you have the infrastructure to where you can control the climate I would say not. I'm setting and incubator full tomorrow night that should hatch the last week of July. No fears. I can brood in optimum temps for a month and then out they go to the external brood coop.
