Does McMurray let you know which birds were substitutions?

Blah.

I've gotten birds from Murray McMurray hatcheries before and have been pleased, but I've gotten them usually through someone else and never had any issues.

This will be my first order solo. I checked the 'accept substitutions' box, but I was wondering if they inform you of which birds they swapped out and for what if they have to do substitutions. I ordered a mix and won't necessarily recognize the breeds on sight as chicks.

On a similar vein, do they mark which chick was the 'free exotic' or which are 'packing peanuts' if they ship with those (I figure they're yellow, but I ordered a couple breeds that look the same as chicks)?

I'd figure it out once they grew up, of course, but I like to have all my ducks (chicks?) in a row as early as possible. Many thanks.

In my experience, no. I've had to guess on the breeds when I've accepted subs. Same with the extra free chick they send. I think it is kind of fun to guess, but I like getting what I asked for, so I usually don't check the subs box. They've only subbed on me once--I ordered Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, and they sent me EEs. If your experience was like mine, your packing slip will have what you ordered, will say somewhere that you okayed subs, but won't tell you if/what they subbed. Unless of course they have changed this policy since I ordered last.
