Hi thankyou for taking out your time and reading this,
So my baby chick aged between 7 weeks, was previously picked on and I had separated him from the flock and kept him with me, he is much better now eating, drinking and moving around.
One thing I found worrying was that whenever he’s trying to drink water he tries to gulp it down and after some time clear saliva type liquid comes out of his mouth. He is always very thirsty . He eats well i guess, and he usually stretches his neck out is always gaping for air whenever he drinks water, shaking his head and wiping his beak on the ground. He sometimes poops with red intestinal lining so at first I thought it was cocci,
Then I ordered some amprolium for him will treat him for preventative measures after the medicine arrives. But asides that can you please helo me with what my chick is suffering from? I had lost a chick way before due to gaping but he never showed any signs just his position of death gave me little clues that it was related to a respiratory disease. Please help me out and give me advice on what to do. Will be grateful.
