My hen has the same. Fi at time I operated on her to remove the scab. Dressed it and let her back to free range. Changed dressings every week. But it returned so have took it off again and dressed again and again. Just babes her and it's back again, never seems to go. It is hard like a callous, she always limps,not sure if this is because of the dressings. Should I operate again? She is 2 and a half,still laying just gone into moult.
