I recently found out earier today that my chickens vent was very swollen and looked almost turned inside out... She was having trouble pooping normally and her bottom was very messy. I then believed that it was vent Gleet, and then my friend said that it might be a prolapse. I have soaked her in warm water and Epsom salt for about 15 mins today already, gave her some calcium tablets, yogurt, and I also heard that giving her an ounce of water with a teaspoon of Espom salt mixed in acts like a laxative and helps clear her system, so I'm trying to do that for her now as well. If she does have a prolapse, how do I treat that? I'm not an expert... At all... And my hen was from a rescue and lets just say she doesn't stand very still sometimes. If I continue with what I've been doing for the next week or so will the swelling eventually go down and go back to normal by isself? Is there anything else I can do? Thanks!
