Does my duck have wet feather?

Hello! So it was finally warm today so I decided to let my ducks bath in a tub of water. While my duck was bathing tho I noticed her feathers looked weird specifically on her neck. Is this wet feather? Or is this just what happens when they get wet?

They just got wet, and have probably dried as I am typing this.

Sometimes during cold weather water will freeze on their feathers, and can pull them together. Similar to what you're seeing on her neck. That is normal and does not necessarily indicate wet feather.

its the next day and she still isn’t dry she’s wet to the touch...

Is it possible that she was drinking exuberantly and splashed new water on herself? My duck does that. So many times a day.

If she does actually have a feather quality issue I would bring her inside and dry her off, but I can't tell you if you need to do that from here. Her do feathers look significantly better than my duck who has feather issues.

In contradiction to my first post, there is minor wet feather occurring in the dorsum aspect of her body. The degree of wet feather she has is not something I would be too worried about; Pekins, along with other meat duck breeds, often begin to lose feather quality as they age. Almost all my Pekins, have some degree of wet feather by eight months in age. In an attempt to prevent the problem from becoming worse of a problem; ensure she gets in clean water at least once a day, and if not, try to mist her feathers to encourage preening. Checking the uropygial (oil gland) located pygostyle, every few weeks to ensure it is not swollen (clogged) and is fairly oily may be good as well.
