I got 2 ducklings last week and a couple of days ago they stop crying so I guess they are used to the new home now but one of my ducks never lets me touch him!why everytime I grab him he pushes his way out of my hand so I makes me kinda sad:( but on the other hand the other duck is always with me and let's me pick her up and is always calm with me. What's wrong with my duck? Help please:barnie:hit

Nothing is wrong--your duck is a duck. Past a certain age, most of them don't like being grabbed and held. Pica stopped letting me pick her up about three weeks in and she has never changed her mind about that. She wants to yank on my pant legs and grab tomatoes out of my hand, but doesn't want me grabbing or petting her. Bork was almost five weeks old when he said "All right, that's enough of that." Willie STILL sometimes climbs into my lap, all eight pounds of him. Ducks have surprisingly different personalities. If you have ducks, your job is to love the ducks. Their job is ALSO to love ducks. That's pretty much the whole reason they evolved to be cute, otherwise we wouldn't put up with it .

I think you're right thanks so much:thumbsup

I agree, they have different personalities. I now have 2 ducklings, one bought at around 4 weeks and one that I hatched myself. 2 sick ducklings died, one of them trusted me more than the duck I hatched in an incubator, the other one was the opposite, never trusted me for a second. The ducks I have now are both completely OK with me touching them, their bills or anything else. They do not like to be picked up. Well, one of the ducklings had a problem walking and he/she actually allowed me to pick her up and place her into the pond when I wanted her moved. Duckling I incubated will follow me, call me when she's hungry and do all the ducky things, but it doesn't like to be held. I don't even try it now, they don't need me to pick them up and I don't.

I've always heard from people that unless you hatch them yourself, they may never fully trust you. But handling them often will certainly help.
