Does one chicken laying egg trigger other?

I'm curious if anyone know if one chicken laying an egg can trigger others to begin as well. It is extremely early in the winter for me to be getting my older hens to lay, usually they wait until mid February or even March 1st.

But I have 2 pullete that are about 7 months and so even tho it is winter, they started laying their first eggs and now all of a sudden the older gals are too!

I don't think so, it's a daylight triggering hormones thing. It must be light enough now for them to lay.
