Does our turkey need companions if raised with them?

We had a possum get into our coop and kill all our chickens but our turkey survived. If he was raised with chickens will he be lonely since he is now alone? Should we get more chickens and if so should they be adult? I read in one post about turkeys being aggressive to new chickens so we weren't sure. I am posting a picture of him so perhaps someone will know something about the breed.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi Turkeybob, welcome to BYC.

Sorry about your chickens. Hopefully you've been able to secure your coop. About your turkey. They are very social. He'll be lonely. Have you considered adding a few turkey hens?

Thanks so much for your reply. It was so sad. Awful. The worst part was the possum was asleep in the coop this morning. Turkey Bob is making sounds we've never heard him make so I know he is traumatized. I don't know anything about turkey hens but I will look into it. I appreciate your response.

Poor guy. He's lonely & scared. You need to spend some time with him. Is he friendly?

Sort of. We were given him a couple months ago by a family that could no longer keep him along with their chickens (we already had a few). He isn't mean or aggressive but he doesn't like it when you get to close either. You can't pet him or anything like that but if you talk to him he talks back and hangs out near you.
