Does pecking hurt and what do you know about chicken aprons/saddles?

I just had it pointed out that one of my chickens is being pecked at by her sisters. She has had a bald spot for over a month with no sign of new plumage. I found a site that sells chicken aprons and thought if I bought one of those, I could post a reply on the "You know you're a crazy chicken lady/gent if..." site. I decided that if the pecking isn't hurting the chicken, I'll just let her walk around with a bald spot. But I do live near Chicago and it can be bitterly cold. What do you think? Should I get the apron or let it go?

I bought one of the chicken saddles and in my opinion they work. My EE was being picked on and was bald on her back and after using the saddle she had time to grow feathers without being picked on. Now she's fine. I'm sure the more feathers the better when it's cold.

Curious...where did you get a saddle that fit your EE well? I bought some and they never fit mine well enough for me to consider leaving them on for any length of time. Put them on and immediately took them off. The elastic bands seemed to pull up under the wings too much. I have one with a bald back and a rooster who loves her...
