How often is it that chicks that fight the most in a group, tend to fly onto you, and are very interactive end up as roosters? Does personality often indicate their gender?

Overall I would also say no. However this spring I did get one chick that was just SUPER aggressive to the other chicks and even would bite my finger-not peck- BITE and wouldn’t let go! And yes it turned out to be a HE. He’s beautiful, but I already have enough roosters and if he was that aggressive as a chick I will be sending him to freezer camp as soon as he meets weight requirement.

LOL, I've had a couple of Barred Rock hens like that! No matter where I got them from, my hens of that breed were mean, and the roosters sweeties.

But to answer the question, no, the boldest, most aggressive one Does Not equal rooster. I've found there is a personality difference, but it's really subtle. Rooster chicks tend to be more watchful and proud, not more aggressive.

In my experience no. If you want to know if they're roosters or hens you can look at their comb and wings. If you post pictures I can give you my opinion.

Cool! Here are some pictures from today- and thank you!

Oh also they’re all 31 days old in these pics ^^

Picture 6 - the yellow chick, has awfully red comb and wattles- I’d bet that’s a boy. The last picture also has a fairly large comb and wattles starting, but it’s harder to tell with the dark skin.
edit: they are all adorable though with those little crests:love
