Does raising the temperature in an incubator help the chicks to hatch quicker?

I have currently 8 Jersey Giant eggs in my bator that are fertile. (only a week to go! YEY)

My question is "Does raising the temperature in an incubator help the chicks to hatch quicker?" or does this affect the condition of the bird when it hatches, i dont want to raise it if its gonna cause problems.

This question would probably relate to my next hatch, I dont want to alter anything at the moment as its going so well.

If anyone has experience in raising temps then please let me know

It will, but don't do it because it'll cause problems with the chicks. They may die after they hatch.

Really? Ive heard quite a few people do it with bantys to get them to hatch day 18/19

What problems does it cause them?

Depending on the temperature you want to run, this is some of the POSSIBLE problems with running temps to high:
Early Dead
Dead embryo, second week
Dry Chicks
Chicks dead after piping shell
Malformed legs & toes
Weak Chicks
Malposition

Thats not good. Why does this have such an impact on the embryo? I am 100% not going to and im not looking for an excuse to do it, just curious on why a little difference in temperature would have such adverse affects.

Most of the examples I gave do not happen with a LITTLE difference in temperature. If you run 1, 1-1/2 degree higher or lower you will probably not see any of the results shown. It's when you have 2, 3 or 4 degrees above or below 99.5 you can run into a multitude of problems. It takes an even stable temperature for the embryo to grow properly. When you get outside the ideal range they simply do not develop properly
