We live in San Diego by the coast and I was wondering if our girls roost and nest buckets should be enclosed? We currently have boards nailed to the upper part of the coop in two corners to block the breeze. Since it's starting to get colder, I was wondering if we should enclose the whole upper part of coop. The coop is 6 feet high, 4ft by 8ft and they free range all day. Their nest buckets are situated so they shouldn't be getting any breeze in them. They are 5 1/2 mos. old and haven't started laying yet. Also, at what point do you need a heater?
Thanks for the help!
