the size of an egg a hen will lay? I am just curious! Been wondering about it for a few weeks lol!

Naw. Size, color everything is determined by the genetics of the hen. If you think about it, she will lay eggs even with no rooster around so she already has all this info in her own genes.

In fact, in chickens the hen even determines the sex of the offspring(this is opposite of humans)

Nope! It's the hens genetics and individual breed that will determine the egg size. The rooster is just there to make sure they come out fertilized.

Along these lines, I'm wondering if the sire of a hen contributes genetic input to the size of her eggs, or the color. This would make sense, right?

That would be correct. Mr. Roo does pass his traits along.
