Chicken "breeders" usually have so strange ideas about what constitutes the perfectly proportioned chicken. This has resulted in some awful looking hens and roosters. Awful at least as far as the ability of that chicken to actually do chicken things.

This is really no different that the fact that commercial turkeys are bred artificially or with AI. because the toms are no longer able to preform the sex act because of breeding to the type that people enjoy.

Gruesome or Inappropriate plumage is one result of the chicken fancy or should I say fancy chickens? A hen whose vent is covered with too much fluff may make you feel warm and fuzzy but nobody bothered to ask the hen what her opinion was.

I cant imagine that some of the hens and roosters I see can go number two without getting it on themselves. This is the idea I am trying to convey.
