There is this ad on my local Craigslist and I was wondering if this looks like a breeding or show quality Silkie? I'm trying to get only breeding or show quality birds.

I would ask for pics of the Rooster and more pics of the hen from the side.

You probably want to see the rooster too. See what his comb looks like.

From that picture of the hen, she looks nice. I would also want a picture of the rooster, because they might not be posting his picture because he is cruddy quality. Also a side picture of the hen to see how her cushion looks and her wings.

Remember that you may or may not hatch out show quality silkies from the eggs...even if both parents are show winners. It's much like rolling the dice...will the chicks get the right combination of the best genes from each parent?

But you are certainly more likely to have SQ birds from SQ parents.
