i have four girls that are four months old. barred rock, buff orp, black aust., and silver laced wyandotte. the wyandotte has started squatting in front of me. i'm assuming this is a sign of reaching sexual maturity. does this mean i can start looking for eggs soon?

I have 5 black australorp pullets that are 19 weeks old. A couple of them are doing the squat { and I oblige them with a pet above the tail/lower back} , this is one of the signs along with the comb and wattles getting bigger and redder.

Now it will seem like forever for those eggs to come.

Depends on your definition of "soon". They are getting there. The red face and comb and wattles tend to signal that time is nearer than not.
