Does this mean she wants to mate?

This is my girl Ana! She lays flat every time I pet her, her neck goes straight, and she lifts her tail up especially if I pet her and she quacks in weird way. She only quacks this way when she lays flat. It’s either that she wants to mate or she respects me. How do I know which it is? It’s uncomfortable knowing that maybe your duck wants you to do the deed... She’s always the first one to come up to me when I open to coop! And when I’m with them she head bobs to the side to all the other girls. If I pet the other girls she runs up to me and bobs her head to the side to the girls I’m petting. I think she gets jealous. Does she think I’m her boyfriend even though I’m a girl? (I don’t think she knows I’m a human or a girl) She’s also very young. She’s 2 months... isn’t that too young for her to want to mate? I know they are ducks not people but none of my other ducks do this to me and they all started doing this when they are 3-4 months old to my drake.

Ugh!! We have a drake but she doesn’t like him!! I love her but not how she thinks She’s the sweetest duck we have! I thought my boy was bad but nope she is worse lol! My boy head bobs to the girls all the time! But the pekin that lays flat. She does this everytime I go out to see her... way worse then my boy haha!

My Pekin hen started doing that when she was few months old, too! She would squat every time she saw me, even when she was playing in the hose, lol.
Mine grew out of it when I got a adult drake that would mate with her.

Really?? I asked a Facebook group and everyone said she was a little young for it! But they lay a lot earlier then most duck breeds. That is good she grew out of it though! I’m Hoping my girl does the same!! Thank you!

Mine started doing it around 2 or 3 months, too. Never never never believe the fakebook people! Lol.

My girl Penguin does the same thing, she stops doing it when she is ready to go broody.

If my other duck Puddles comes over to say hello she will push in front of her and try to get closer to me - it seems like she's jealous. I don't have a drake so maybe my duck will never stop doing this.

That’s what my girl does too! I have no idea what it’s all about! We have a boy but he’s a mallard so he’s small. She doesn’t like him from what I know.

Well I think it's that she loves and trusts you, so take it as a compliment . Maybe she'll become more interested in your drake as she grows up - she's still a baby really.
