hi a couple of days ago I had a d,uccle go broody but she decided she did not like being broody three day after she broke out of being broody yesterday know I have a rir in the favorite laying spot and she gets very mad when I come up to her does she look like a broody
Most hens are defensive when on the nest. Some will sit there most of the day.
A broody hens stays on the nest day and night, and cluck clucks when removed, and will often return immediately.
If your other hen left after 3 days it wasn't really broody yet. I will make sure they are sitting continuously for 5 days or more before giving them eggs to hatch, or just one day of it if I want to break them.
She does look fierce in those pics, but a true broody will sit day and night, may try to take your hand off when you bother her or her eggs and walk around puffed up and clucking non-stop when off the nest. As the above posters said, give her a day or three and see what she does until then.
