New Father one day, DEAD 4 days later.
I got my hens and rooster, by mistake, it was supposed to be all hens, around October as young birds; this is most of their first year laying eggs so i decided to see if one of my hens would go broody. Well 2 did, I had some chicks hatch on Saturday and Mother's Day, awesome, and ever since that my roo would hoover over the nesting boxes where the chicks are, well today 4 days later he is dead. He stopped eating and drinking and became very stressed and seemed worried to death litterly about the chicks. last night he slept on the ground right next to them. He was NOT sick prior to the chicks hatching. Has anyone ever experienced this?
