A chicken who never gets to sunbathe really never gets to live, IMO.
Yes they can exist when kept indoors, but that's not much of a life.
I personally get grumpy, depressive and cabin feverish if the sun doesn't shine. I hate being cooped up at work on a sunny day, and I technically have a CHOICE to be at work or not. Poor chicken kept indoors doesn't get a choice
