Doesn't matter if you agree with the war or not - this is beautiful

5azsisters,
Thank you and God bless you for posting this. You have brought tears to an old vet's eyes with this. How touching!
Been there and done that!
There is a scene in there where a soldier has tears running down his cheeks, not sweat!
Leave it to an American soldier to make the supreme sacrifice to serve, fight, protect, and bring the freedom to this country that so many people take forgranted.

Thank you from my heart to yours.
Yogiman (aka: Roger)

This was emailed to me recently too, brought tears to my eyes. I don't have the joy of being close to anyone who has, or is serving our country, but that doesn't mean I don't have a proud heart. God bless those who have served for us, and those that are serving right now.

Thank you for the post. Makes me cry - makes me proud. My son served his last year of service in Iraq. Got home in time for Christmas last year. He has 5 years of reserve duty and though I am so very proud of his service, I pray he never gets called back to Iraq.

Here's my son Michael

And his platoon.

DH was in the Marines and served in the first Gulf War.
We had our first date days after he came home.
He went on to server 9 years and I am still proud of him to this day.
We were so fortunate there was nothing going on that he had to be deployed.
And it is instilled in these men and women in basic training that "it is their duty to fight" and they do take it very seriously and never think about the sacrifices they make.

That was beautiful. Can't say it any better than Rodger "You have brought tears to an old vet's eyes with this" make that two.

Ruth I'm so glad you son is safe. Tell him thanks for me.

BantyChickMom, tell you DH SemperFi.
Just a note. No one was in the Marines, you always are a Marine. It never leaves.

Wow that was awsome! I too have tears, although all I could see was the first picture,I was able to hear the song.
My best friend's husband and stepson just left at christmas to go over there, so is a wreck. Her DH and his son are at the same base for now so they are lucky they get to see each other. The son is just 19 I believe. I pray they get back safe, it will be a long 18 months!
I would love to send this to her, but she can't deal with these kind of emails, I can't say I blame her!
I sure do thank all the Men and Woman that are serving, and or have served for their country, but it just doesn't seem like enough!

I can't say that I believe in this war, but I do thank all the men and women that protect this country. They work very hard to protect our freedoms. I have a 19 year old that is stationed in Korea now. My husband retired after 20 years and 8 months in the service. I also want to thank the families of those men and women. I know from first hand experience how hard it is to be away from your spouse. Thank you service men and women, and to your families for the sacrafices you make for us. God Bless and Take Care.
