We have two cocker spaniels, Charley and Harper, that are guardians and friends to our chickens and ducks. Our oldest (about 4 years) rooster, Skinny, has become VERY friendly lately, following people around and begging to be carried, kind of like a lovable puppy. He also seems to think he is a dog, running to the gate with them when I get home from work. Anyway, when Skinny gets crowing (yes, we really love to hear them crow, even are teaching him to crow on command - no special collars wanted here) Charley and Harper join in, howling along. The dogs know the song of their rooster, and though we have others, they only sing along with Skinny.
So, does anyone else have chickens who think they're dogs or dogs who think they're chickens or both? How about roosters and dogs that like to "sing" together?
