Dog attack 3 or 4

Well a dog has killed and taken our chickens 3 or 4 times this being the 4th time. This morning I was thawing the nipple waterer for bantam coop and I had forgotten to close the gate and after I came back 4 or 5 of the chickens had gotten out so I just left the gate open so the birds would get back in eventually. Then a few minutes ago one of us saw a dog chasing the birds that were out

. So now we have 4 live birds left and one carcass with no blood anywhere on it or our property, There were 12 birds in there!

how can 1 dog get rid of 8 birds?!!

OH! sooooooo SORRY ....

i love dogs but not people who are irresponsible pet owners and it sounds like someone needs to supervise their dogs or rehome them!

If you were close I would loan you a gun. I would keep one handy personally.

Not sure there is a trap that would fit this dog but we have set traps and caught pets ourselves. Its generally cats but we have caught a dog in the past. Fairly small though.

better to call animal control and let them know what's going on.
if you know who owns the dog ,you should let animal control know this as well. Going to the owner may solve the trouble. And if it doesn't then at least you gave them warning(s)

Maybe the other chickens are hiding...Keep an eye out for them, or go out back and call to them. They'll come running!
