Dog attack. When to cull? (Graphic pics)

I moved him to the bigger crate today. He's MUCH happier now.

I'm not sure what to do with his tail? The blukote is still hard like a scab on the part where the meat was showing. But his tail looks a bit bloody. From preening maybe?

Should I spray the blukote again or try the antibiotic ointment?

He looks so good! Just follow your gut about treatment. He seems to be out of the woods now. I doubt either medicine would hurt.

I had a girl with injury to the back.
I would make sure under the scab there is no infection building.
Check to see if there is pus or smell coming from the wounded area.

I would use the ointment
the "extry" tissue there should have been removed when first treated, But it wont hurt anything being there now.
Jus a lump.

Ive had birds clawed by hawks in the past. Keep the area dry. Stitch it where you can. Regular sewing needle and thread is all u need. Once it heels up leave the thread in, it will not hurt the bird.. I use ichthammol 20% drawing salve. smother it on the wounds after heating it up a bit.. good luck

The black part sticking up. The little pip sticking up is her oil gland. and straight up from the oil gland
is that black piece of looking charcoal thing.
That to me looks like scab.
Is that correct ?
It also looks thick tho don't want it to bleed by picking it too much, just enough tiny enough to see if
there is some pus or smell to it.
Just enough to check it out and diagnose.

And I actually removed the scab for the first few days until no more pus was present, I did so carefully , watching to see if she would bleed a lot from it, she did not.
She had already been injured over a week when I got her.
Maybe everyone wouldn't go about it this way,
But you couldn't tell which one was injured after it was said and done.

Well, what more can you do ? Except give good nutrition and safety, while healing.
She sure is in good hands. Exceptional animal husbandry.
