A couple weeks ago some dogs got in my yard and ripped out my Princesa’s tail feathers. I cleaned her up, sprayed with bluekote and isolated her until her downy feathers came back. She’s covered enough not to be picked at by the others, but I’m wondering if the healing is going well. I’m really not sure what I’m looking at, but she had a puncture and what looks like a bone? Her vent is fine - eating, drinking, and laying ok. Anything I should look out for? Do you think she’s ok outside? Should I continue cleaning and blukote?

sorry the photos are not the best, I was holding her with one hand and taking pics with the other.
the black stump on top is what I think was a bone or something. Then you see the puncture wound and the surface scabbing underneath that.

It sounds likes she's doing OK. I can't see anything that looks like a bone in your pictures. Could just be a broken feather shaft? I would use plain neosporin on it rather than the blu-kote. Blu-kote is better for superficial stuff, and the color makes it hard to see how the tissue looks. As long as there is no discharge, pus, or bad smell, then she's probably doing OK. If there is any chance that others could peck her wound, I would keep her separated until it's healed enough that that isn't a risk.

Thank you! I looked up chicken anatomy, and where it is it seems like it’s part of her spine/tailbone that was exposed. But she’s walking and operating normally so maybe she’s just a tough cookie. Thanks for the note about neosporin, I’ll switch to that. :)

I would separate her. Can you make her her own spot in within the coop so that she can be with the others, but not get picked on?
Blue-Kote can actually dry out some wounds, I would use Neosporin as well. It will keep everything moist, and help it heal up nicely. Does it smell bad? What are you cleaning it with? I would give it a good rinse with a "sterile solution" like saline, diluted iodine, or Clorhexadine is a good solution. Give it a good clean, and apply a good layer of Neosporin, or Antibacterial ointment.

That’s a good idea. She was getting really frantic being separated in the house. It doesn’t smell bad. I was cleaning with diluted hydrogen peroxide. How often would you clean it?

Do you know whose dogs got into the coop? I'd make sure that none of your other birds are injured, then have a conversation with your dog-owning neighbor if you know whose dogs injured your chicken. If they are stray dogs or if your neighbor is hostile, you can trap the dog and turn it over to your local ASPCA or, if your local ordinances permit, euthanize the dog yourself. We had a loose husky get into our backyard a few years ago and it killed and injured a few of our chickens before I could get it out of the yard.

Hydrogen peroxide is a bad idea. It will sting and can be very harsh and painful. I'm not sure abbot diluted, but I still wouldn't' use it. If you don't have anything else, you can use warm soapy water, or make your own saline solution as well.
Assuming you don't have flies were you are right now? Just make sure that no flies or insects can lay eggs in the wound, she has a dry place to keep it dry, she doesn't try to dust bathe, and no other hens peck it. Keeping her with the flock is better, but there are other factors to consider. If she keeps getting it dirty, then bring her in the house with a friend to keep it clean.
