dog attack

the dog got a hold of one of my 12 week old pullets....i see no puncture wounds, but she has a large fluid pocket under her skin on her body under her wing....all else seems fine....need to know weather to just watch it or to drain the fluid out of the pocket

Could it be a leaking air sac (subcutaneous emphysema) under her wing from trauma to her chest? I would not treat it if it not very big or causing breathing problems. Here is some info about treatment:

thanks for the info....he size of the sac of air/fluid is roughly a little bigger then a golf ball....it starts where her wing connects to her body & encompasses where her leg connects to her body....her wing hangs a little lose instead of being pulled up tight against her body :/

she is breathing normally, as well as eating, drinking & pooping normally....i think i'll just keep an eye on it & see how things go

update.....so far so good....the pocket of air seems to be getting smaller, but her wing on that side is still droopy....she is acting normal & hangs with the other youngsters with no problem, as a matter of fact she is quite difficult catch

update....air pocket is gone, wing is back to staying tight against the body.....appears she is all healed back up
